NATO Assistant Secretary General to visit Azerbaijan

Assistant Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jean Fournet will visit Azerbaijan July 3 2006 on the occasion of the NATO Week.

As APA reports, on the first day of the NATO Week Mr.Jean Fournet and Azerbaijani deputy foreign minister Araz Azimov will attend the opening ceremony of the summer session of the NATO International School in Azerbaijan (NISA) at "Aqua Park" hotel in Novkhani district.

The opening ceremony of the EuroAtlantic Center is due to be held at the Mirza Fatali Akhundov National Library on that day. The opening ceremony will also bring together Jean Fournet, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev.

In addition, M?lange International Symposium will be held at the Presidium of Azerbaijan National Academy of Science (ANAS) in the frames of the NATO Week. NATO delegate, Professor Wolfgang Spira, ANAS president, Professor Mahmoud Karimov and several other delegates will address the symposium.

Jean Fournet will hold a press conference at the EuroAtlantic Center in National Library July 4.
