Iranian Embassy First Secretary says his insulting words were joke

First Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) Serdar Jalaloglu met with Mustafa Mashadi, First Secretary of the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan today.

As APA reports, Jalaloglu met with him at the first secretary’s request.

The sides exchanged views on recent events in connection with Azerbaijanis in Iran, and the diplomat expressed Iranian official opinion regarding these demonstrations.

Jalaloglu told that they also discussed providing journalists from Azerbaijan visiting Iran to observe the processes there.

"I suggested the delegation to be composed of not only journalists but also politicians and its having talks with Iranian politicians during the visit. The first secretary accepted this proposal and said the visit can be organized soon. The secretary also said his joke in an event organized by the "Azadliq" alliance regarding the events in Iran was taken serious by the media and he is dissatisfied with that. Mr.Mashadi said he was not serious on some sentences he used in his speech," Jalaloglui said.

The Iranian Embassy first secretary in the event of the "Azadliq", said he has become a traitor serving Persians, Nizami Ganjavi and Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh were Persians and voiced insulting expressions against the ancient Azerbaijani state Sefevides.
