Terry Davis was informed of law violations in Iran

Insulting of Azerbaijanis in Iran as well as dispersing of peaceful demonstration by Iran police caused irritation of Azerbaijani organizations in Europe.

Azerbaijan Culture Society activating in France and a group of member of Azad Azerbaijan Society, yesterday held series of meetings in Council of Europe at the invitation of Council of Europe General Secretariat deputy director, Ivan Koedjikkov.

As APA reports, in the meeting, the organization leadership was informed of the bloody events happening in South Azerbaijan, written statement denouncing these events in the English, French and German languages, was presented to General Secretary of Council of Europe, Terry Davis. In the submitted statements mullah regime acts of Iran is denounced, and stated that it is surprised that this events were not highlighted in European states mass media quite enough.

Finally, authors of the statements appealing to UNO, European Union, particularly UNO commission for Human Rights and European Court for Human Rights, ask them to call Irani Government to treat democracy and human rights in respect. Besides it, is brought to the attention of Council of Europe leaders that paragraphs 15 and 19 of Iran Constitution considers self-determination right of nations.

Chief of Azerbaijani Culture Society activating in Strasbourg city of France Ahmad Mehrabani told that besides it, they have submitted as evidence of Iran chauvinism, caricatures that published in news paper "Iran" May 12, 2006, to Terry Davis.
