Azeri rights activists submit two lists on "political prisoners"

The meeting of the taskforce on political prisoners set up jointly by the authorities and human rights campaigners concluded on Wednesday without achieving major results.

Rights defender Chingiz Ganizada told AssA-Irada the group he represents submitted a list of 50 persons they deem "political prisoners".

Another list, presented by his colleague Eldar Zeynalov, included 100 persons.

"It was agreed that both lists would be studied both by government representatives and rights defenders. The outcome of the work will be discussed at our next meeting," Ganizada said.
