Andres Herkel: "PACE co-rapporteurs to arrive in Baku till June 1"

"The visit will take place till June 1, 2006. It is not part of the monitoring mission over the May 13, 2006 by-elections to the Milli Majlis," Herkel stressed. The decision on the visit of the co-rapporteurs was made at the meeting of the PACE Monitoring Committee in Paris on 8 May.

Besides, Herkel did not exclude that their visit may be paid during the re-run elections and the co-rapporteurs would also participate in the direct observation over the elections. "Gross and I will arrive in Baku separately to conduct monitoring. Determination of the exact date of the visit is technical issue," Mr. Herkel told Trend.
