Rasul Guliyev: “I do not see any factor to prevent my return to Azerbaijan”

The chairman of the party informed that many press organs asked him for an interview recently and the reason of holding the press-conference is to answer those questions.

R.Guliyev firstly explaining the question concerning his return to Azerbaijan informed that the ADP Supreme Majlis made a decision on his returning to Azerbaijan till October 15.

“However, I can arrive in Azerbaijan earlier than October 15. I determined the date of my return to Azerbaijan 99 % exactly for myself. I do not see any factor to change my decision and prevent my returning to Azerbaijan. A criminal case raised against me is illegal. This criminal case is contrary to the articles of the Constitution. That is why I do not intend to obey such a fake decision. I know that I can be arrested in case I return to Azerbaijan. However, the authority should know that a non-stable situation can occur in Azerbaijan in this case. The authority will suffer greater damages from these processes than the Azerbaijani nation does. That is why the authority should think about this question”.

R.Guliyev also noted that he does not accept any pardon to be made by the authority in connection with him. R.Guliyev noted that the pardon is intended for persons who acted in a wrong way and informed that he had taken a wrong step neither when he was in the authority nor after this period.

“I know very well which events will happen in the Baku airport when I return to Azerbaijan. This scenario was already prepared by the authority. But none of these factors can prevent my return”.

R.Guliyev expressing his attitude to the September 25 rally of the “Azadlig” bloc informed that bloc’s leaving the action unfinished and starting talks with the authority demonstrated that the bloc is interested in continuation of the processes in civil way.

“However, the authority acted abnormally by not permitting the opposition to hold its action in one of 6 offered routes. The authority demonstrated that it can only tell lies”.

R.Guliyev explaining the pre-election situation informed that the existing processes show that the authority does not intend to hold democratic elections. As to the opinion of the chairman of the party being sure that this time the Azerbaijani nation will not reconcile to falsification, the confrontation can be more strained in the country as a result. “Such tension satisfies the interests of some official figures. They display special diligence in occurrence of such confrontations. I ask the government to think about the future of the state and not to create tension, instead of it, to create circumstances for holding true elections. If the authority pays no attention to this summon of the opposition, they will have to listen to us in squares”.

R.Guliyev also touching the meeting to be held between the authority and “Azadlig” bloc tomorrow informed that the only result of the meeting is only consent given to hold the action in one of 6 routes.

“There are no other variants. The second variant can be holding actions without permission in the center of the city again”. The ADP chairman noting that the “Azadlig” bloc pretends to win 75 seats in the parliament considers that other opposition parties can also win 20-25 seats. And this means that the opposition will have 90-95 seats in the parliament in general.

“Only after this normal and democratic reforms can start in the country”.
