Azerbaijan welcomed up to 2.5 million foreigners in 2012

The number of foreigners, who arrived in Azerbaijan last year, increased by 2.4 percent and reached 2.480 million people compared to 2003, the report of the Cabinet of Ministers as of 2012, submitted to the Parliament, said today.

Last year the number of tourists who visited Icheri Sheher (Old City) museums reached 187,229 people.

The number of hotels and hotel-type facilities increased by five times and reached 506 compared to 2003. Around 80 percent are in the regions, and the number of travel agencies in Azerbaijan reached 200.
