Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili expressed his hope that in 2013 the new government will not destroy all that which has previously been created.
After the Christmas Day Service at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, President Saakashvili congratulated the Georgian people on Christmas and the Patriarch on his anniversary.
"I would like to wish each of us to meet the New Year in the best mood and every Christmas with great optimism. I would like to wish that this year we do not allow the destruction of all that which was created hardly over time," Saakashvili said.
The president said that Georgia should be future oriented.
"I believe that we can overcome any temporary difficulties. Georgia will move aside all possible risks and will continue to develop because our people deserve it," Saakashvili said.
The President wished all compatriots the season's greetings.
