Two solar eclipses expected next year

Two solar and three lunar eclipses are expected in 2013, director of Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasraddin Tusi of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Eyyub Guliyev said.

According to him, the first solar eclipse of the next year will occur on May 10 at 02.27 local time and last till 07.18. The solar eclipse will not be observed in Azerbaijan. The second solar eclipse will occur on November 3 at 14.06 local time and last till 18.27. This phenomenon will be partially observed in Azerbaijan.

The partial lunar eclipse of the next year will occur on April 26 at 00.54 local time and last till 01.20. The lunar eclipse will be observed in Azerbaijan. The second partial lunar eclipse will occur on May 25 at 09.00 and last till 09.22. This phenomenon will not be observed in Azerbaijan.

The last partial lunar eclipse of the year will occur on October 19 at 02.51 local time and last till 06.48 and it will be observed in Azerbaijan.
