Azerbaijani official: Inflation will amount to 6% in 2010

Based on the results of 2010, the inflation rate in Azerbaijan will be 6 percent, Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee Chairman Arif Valiyev said. "Inflation is at 4.4% now and it will amount to about 6 percent by late 2010," Valiyev said.

According to the preliminary data, the level of Azerbaijan's GDP in the first quarter amounted to 5.1-5.2%, he said.

"Decline was observed in food imports to Azerbaijan, which is linked with the increased production in the country," Valiyev said.
