The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) clarifies the voter lists as part of the forthcoming parliamentary elections, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said.
The CEC plans to complete work and submit a new revised voters list by late May, Panahov said.
The Parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan in autumn this year. Previously, elections took place in November 2005. In Azerbaijan, parliamentary elections are held by the majority system in 125 electoral districts.
Panahov said the commission holds enlightening activities under the preparations for the elections. The CEC ends monitoring carried out in the constituencies. "The monitoring was conducted at a high level. We believe that all districts are ready to advance to the electoral process," he said.
Regarding the date of the parliamentary elections, Panahov noted that no official statement on the matter was made. "I think that elections will be held within the constitutional deadlines," Panahov said.
He also noted that in the near future the CEC will move to a new building that will create conditions for holding of the elections at an even higher level.
