10 March 2010 [15:42] - TODAY.AZ
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry calls on the citizens to refuse to travel to Iraq in connection with the acts of terrorism and armed confrontation.
Although the number of terrorism acts reduced in Iraq compared to previous years, the situation in the country is still tense, the ministry reported.

Particularly, the ministry calls on citizens to refuse to travel to Baghdad, the northern parts of the country - Mosul, Kerkuk, as well as to Basra, Maysan, Al Anbar, Salad ad Din, Diyala, Ninewa, Muthanna, Najaf, Kerbala and Dhi Gar.

The ministry recommends citizens permanently or temporarily residing in Iraq to contact the Azerbaijani Embassy in Jordan and pre-register with the Consular Section of the Embassy if they have any problems.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry brings to the attention of citizens that the ministry does not bear any responsibility for possible incidents during the travels abroad.

Neither region nor the countries of the world are insured against terrorism and emergencies, the ministry says.
