Azerbaijani PM meets IMF officials

The IMF officials praised the fact that Azerbaijan managed to survive the global financial crisis. They described the GDP growth rate in Azerbaijan in 2009 as “the highest indicator across the world.”

They also noted due to preventive measures by the Azerbaijani government, the inflation was dramatically declined in the country, while the poverty level decreased to 11 percent.

They also discussed other issues including improvements in institutional and management reforms, development of non-oil sector and plans to use effectively the Oil Foundation`s revenues.
