Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met President of the European People’s Party (EPP) Wieldfried Martens.

Mammadyarov stressed Azerbaijan and the EPP enjoy “close” cooperation.
“The Eastern Partnership initiative plays a crucial role from this point of view,” the minister said.
Mammadyarov also highlighted the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, expressing regret over the fact the dispute had not yet been resolved.
“Liberating Azerbaijan`s occupied lands, restoring the country`s territorial integrity and the Azerbaijani refugees` returning to their homelands are major conditions for ensuring peace and stability in the region.”
