Netherlands Kingdom Secretary General to visit Azerbaijan

Secretary General's visit is scheduled approximately for early March, the first secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy in the Kingdom, Elchin Bashirov told Trend News on Wednesday.

It is planned that Kronenburg will discuss various aspects of development of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic and humanitarian spheres.

During the visit the Secretary General will also participate in the opening of embassy in Baku.

Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Maxime Verhagen voiced the proposal of opening the Embassy.

Dutch ambassador will work closely with other ambassadors of EU countries in Baku, as well as with embassies in Tbilisi and Ankara. Jan Lucas van Horn will be the first ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani Embassy in the Netherlands was opened in 2007. The current ambassador is Fuad Iskanderov.

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands in January-April 2009 amounted to $17.8 million.
