Azerbaijani President received OSCE Chairman-in-Office

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the delegation led by OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev.
Firstly, Ilham Aliyev had one-on-one meeting with Saudabayev. President regarded Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of OSCE as a significant event. The head of state expressed his confidence that there would be serious changes during Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in 2010.

Saudabayev expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for support in the election of Kazakhstan. He briefed Azerbaijani president about the meeting he had held in Baku.

The meeting continued with the participation of the delegation.

President Ilham Aliyev underlined that chairmanship of OSCE was an important mission and expressed his confidence that during Kazakhstan’s chairmanship OSCE will achieve positive improvements in strengthening security in Europe. The head of state said he believed that Kazakhstan would take an active part in the settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, expressed hope for serious progress in the settlement of the conflict in 2010.

Ilham Aliyev noted that strong political will and important decisions are necessary for the solution to the conflict and establishment of peace in the Caucasus.

Kanat Saudabayev said during Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of OSCE the solution to Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict would be one of the priorities. He said they intended to give an impetus to the efforts of all the sides participating in the settlement of the conflict.
