“Ahmet Davutoglu should once and for all understand that the border with the enemy should never be opened,” Azerbaijani political expert Vafa Guluzade said.

“For some reasons it is widely believed in Armenia that under any circumstances the United States will force Turkey to ratify the Armenian-Turkish protocols. But this is wrong. Ankara will never yield to U.S. pressure and make such a move,” the expert said.
“Washington uses the "Armenian genocide" to blackmail Ankara. I think if this document is adopted in the U.S. Congress, the US-Turkish cooperation will come to an end and Turkey will withdraw from NATO. This, in turn, can have far-reaching consequences,” the expert noted.
“I think if this happens, Turkey can launch strategic cooperation with Russia and to induce Azerbaijan to take the same step. Of course, in such a situation Azerbaijan will become dependent on Moscow, but at the same time, I think that in this case Karabakh will be returned to Azerbaijan.”
“Davutoglu should once and for all understand that the border with the enemy should never be opened. Furthermore, Turkey should freeze all existing ties with Armenia. Border with Armenia can be opened only when Yerevan stops pursuing enemy's policy towards Ankara,” the expert added.
Commenting on Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s message to his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul made from the aircraft when flying over Turkey’s territory, Guluzade described it as “totally hypocritical.”
“Armenia itself has torpedoed the Armenian-Turkish protocols so that accuse Turkey of everything. This turn of events is possible, given that the emerging separation between the Islamic and Christian worlds. Even despite the fact that Turkey is a NATO member, it still remains a Muslim country. Largely because of this, United States and Russia support the position of Armenia, but not that of Turkey,” the expert said.
