Briefing was held in Baku on the outcomes of the 8th meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission between Azerbaijani Parliament and Russian Federation Council.

Deputy chairperson of the Russian parliament Svetlana Orlova said discussions had been held on all spheres – humanitarian, cultural, historical, legislative and political spheres.
It was noted that the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia should be deepened.
Orlova said the next meeting of the commission would be held in Russia.
Orlova added that the commission’s Working Group on migration affairs had been established at the meeting. The number of the working groups has reached four.
Orlova appreciated the activity of head of Russian mission of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva in Russia and activities carried out by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, parliamentarian Mehriban Aliyeva.
Speaking about Azerbaijan-Russia relations, Orlova appreciated the establishment of Baku branch of Moscow State University and noted that it was the first branch of the university abroad.
Touching on the local elections in Azerbaijan, Orlova said Azerbaijan had made great improvements in practice of holding elections.
"It is an important improvement to watch voting in the polling stations through web cameras,” she said.
The presidents of the two countries had high level relations, she noted.
