Turkey's principled position on Nagorno-Karabakh issue has long been known to all: Azerbaijani MP

“Much depends on Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the U.S.,” member of Azerbaijani parliament Aydin Mirzazade said.
“The Turkish prime minister’s visit to the United States is focus of attention of not only in Azerbaijani and Turkish societies, but also the entire world. I think we will see results of Erdogan's talks in Washington in near future,” Mirzazade said.

“Turkey is one of the powerful nations which enjoys credibility in the South Caucasus region and has an opportunity to resolve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” he added.

“Turkey’s principled position in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue has long been known to all. In this respect, Erdogan's statements confirm once again his country’s position. In other words, Turkey is ready to open its border with Armenia only after the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is resolved. This should serve as a good example to other states,” the MP said.

“It is Armenia that needs opening of borders. Armenia has great potential neither in military, economic nor in political terms. These factors strongly affect Armenia’s statehood. Turkey does not need to open borders,” the parliamentarian added.
