Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission registers over 300 observers to monitor municipal elections

“More than 300 observers have been registered with the Central Election Commission (CEC) to monitor the local elections to be held on December 23”, said CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov.

He sad this process is conducted in District Electoral Commissions (DEC) and more than 1,500 observers have been registered in District Electoral Commissions so far. Deadline for registration as an observer is December 13 in CEC, but December 18 in DEC.

He noted that the observers registered with CEC have rights to observe the elections nationwide, but the observers registered with DEC have rights to observe elections only in the area they have been registered.
