Hearing to be held on suit filed by Azerbaijani interior minister against editor-in-chief

Yasamal district court of Baku held a preliminary hearing on the suit filed by Interior Minister Ramil Usubov against editor-in-chief of the Femida 007 newspaper Eyyub Karimov.

Karimov’s petition to reject the suit was not granted.

The hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 26.

Interior Minister Ramil Usubov filed a suit against Eyyub Karimov on article 147.2 (slander) of the Criminal Code.

Karimov’s articles about the Interior Ministry published in the Azadlig and Femida 007 newspapers accused the interior minister of alleged serious crimes.
