President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Georgian delegation headed by Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II on Nov. 4.

The Head of State expressed satisfaction with “successful” development of Azerbaijan-Georgia relations in all fields.
President Ilham Aliyev stressed importance of interreligious dialogue initiated by influential religious figures, saying “it creates great opportunities for mutual understanding, cooperation and security in the region.”
The Azerbaijani leader praised participation of Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia in international conference entitled “Interreligious dialogue: from mutual understanding towards joint cooperation” to be held in Baku.
Greeting President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the Georgian Orthodox Church and people, Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II said the Georgian people know the Azerbaijani leader very well and love him for his wise policy at this difficult time.
