Azerbaijan launches National Book Award

The event was opened by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev, who said that such projects implemented with the state support deserve praising.

Launch of National Book Award will bolster process in sphere of literary and will encourage new works, the minister said.

Founder of the National Book Award and Director of the Ali and Nino publishing house Nigar Kocharli noted that the project aims at raising public awareness about Azerbaijani literature, promoting social significance of contemporary literature and publication of works that will enrich the literature.
 
The National Award committee will admit stories and novels. Jurors will consider works written within 10 years before the date of submission to the Committee of the National Book Award.
