
Turkmenistan continues to build highly-developed country where entire available potential is aimed to achieve a high level of people's welfare and development of mutually beneficial relations with all world countries, Turkmen Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anamammad Mammadov said at a press conference on Turkmen President's speech on the 64th session of UN General Assembly.
The ambassador said Turkmenistan is also interested in deepening fraternal and neighborly relations with neighboring countries, including Azerbaijan, and referred to Turkmen President Berdimuhammedov's speech.
During general political debate on the 64th session of UN General Assembly Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov proposed to engage UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia in an effort to solve the situation in Afghanistan.
He also called for building of new, universal model of relations in the world energy sphere.
According to the Turkmen president, current global realities necessitate closer cooperation between countries and large international organizations to ensure global peace and security, terms for further development and progress, preservation of legal and moral foundations laid in the modern world order.
He said that it is impossible to implement these goals without recognition of UN's importance.
"The United Nations must become a basis in creative activity of countries to build a fair and balanced system of international relations," Berdimuhammedov said at the UN General Assembly.
During his speech, he emphasized importance of launching a dialogue to discuss regional problems in Central Asian and Caspian regions, transit of energy resources, holding international conference on disarmament in Central Asia and the Caspian Sea.
