Azerbaijan is ready to compromise in resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict only within its principle position, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov told reporters on Oct. 6.

“The situation is difficult to resolve. There is no 100-percent unilateral decision to the conflict. There is only a compromise solution, and Azerbaijan has already outlined a list of its compromises. Standing on its principled stance, Azerbaijan is ready to compromise,” Azimov said.
He noted that as a compromise Azerbaijan is ready to provide the high status of self-government to Nagorno-Karabakh region and supports the resolution of the conflict on the basis of three principles taken as a base for by the co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group.
These are the principles of non-use of force or threat of force, ensuring territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the right of peoples to self-determination.
"Azerbaijan, accepting these compromises, went to the middle of the bridge and is waiting for Armenia, too, will give up its maximalism and come to the middle,” the diplomat said.
