Azerbaijan's Consul General in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov and member of the consulate staff Elman Abdullayev have ended a working visit to Utah.

The Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles said the meeting with Utah governor Gary R. Herbert focused on level of Azerbaijan-U.S. relations, in particular the prospects for cooperation with the State of Utah, as well as Azerbaijan's contribution in ensuring regional security and the centuries-old traditions of tolerance and openness in the Azerbaijani society.
A book on Azerbaijan’s foreign policy issued by the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy was presented to Governor Herbert.
In the capital of the state Salt Lake City, Suleymanov spoke to the Chamber of Commerce and the students of the Political Sciences Department at the Utah University.
The program of the visits also included presentations at the leading Utah universities - Brigham Young University and the Utah Valley University located in Provo.
In his statements, the diplomat spoke about the situation in the Caucasus and the policies of the Azerbaijani leadership aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial Azerbaijan-U.S. partnership.
Azerbaijani diplomats also met with representatives of the Mormon church, the main religious community in Utah.
