Azerbaijani defense ministry launches special commission on granting war victim status

No one has appealed so far to the special commission set up under the Defense Ministry to get war victim status, spokesman for Azerbaijani Defense Ministry Eldar Sabirglu said at a news conference.
Sabiroglu said under the new rules determined by Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers, not only those killed during battles, but also those died at a military service could get war victim status.

He said parents and relatives of the killed servicemen may appeal for war victim status.

“No one has appealed to the ministry yet. War victim status will be given to  servicemen who deserve it,” he said.
