Azerbaijan considers candidates for post of UNESCO Secretary General

Countries which have nominates their candidates for the post of Secretary General of UNESCO appealed Azerbaijan for support, and now Baku considers these candidates, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at the meeting with Ivonna A-Baki, a candidate from Ecuador, press office of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

The minister said UNESCO is of particular priority for Azerbaijan, and the current cooperation is at a high level.

The minister said the relationship has further deepened with
the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva's being appointed Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO.

Ivonna A-Baki briefed the inister of the pre-election platform, and promised, once elected, he will make every effort to strengthen the activities of the organization around the world.
