Turkmenistan foreign ministry’s statement is absolutely groundless: expert

Azerbaijani political expert Vafa Guluzade said while commenting on statement by Turkmen Foreign Ministry published today on Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper which said that “any unilateral actions in the Caspian Sea are inadmissible and Absheron peninsula and Chilov island should not be taken into account in delimitation of Caspian Sea”.

“Let Turkmenistan think what it wishes. We have our own views, too,” he said.

“The sectoral division of the Caspian Sea has already been recognized and each country has its own sector. When the final status of the Caspian Sea is determined, it will depend on consensus. Yet it is not known, it can be achieved in 10 or 50 years or in 5 years,” the political expert said.
