PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur: I made decision to drop out of politics at the last moment

24 June 2009 [08:37] - TODAY.AZ
“I made decision to drop out of politics at the last moment because new opportunities were opened before me to develop fashion business in Bulgaria and foreign countries”, PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan Eugenia Zhivkova told exclusively APA European bureau.

She said her company would represent the fashion sector of Bulgaria in the world. “I will attend the fashion forum in New York next year and will represent Bulgaria in Hollywood. I drop out of politics due to my business activity. I will need in much time to do the business. I fear that I couldn’t bring the business activity with the politics in parallel. I am leading the non-governmental organization “Lyudmila Zhivkova – znamya mira” and it discovers the talented children. I would like to help the talented children in Bulgaria and other countries and I will develop this NGO”.

Zhivkova noted that she had visited Azerbaijan several times: “I would like to familiarize myself with culture and fashion art of Azerbaijan. As a co-rapporteur of the Monitoring Committee, I was closely acquainted only with socio-political situation, democracy, human rights and etc. in Azerbaijan and had meetings only with officials. I did not have much time to know the fashion field of your country. My company has been functioning for 20 years and will continue my job mainly in Bulgaria and the United States henceforth”.

As a co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan, I think your country has enough potential for further development of democracy and human rights. I will always be a friend of Azerbaijan.
