Azerbaijan's deputy FM: Azerbaijan ready to consider Turkey's proposal on resolution of Karabakh conflict

16 April 2009 [15:45] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan is ready to consider Turkey's proposals, aimed at resolution of the Karabakh conflict, said deputy FM of Azerbaijan Mahmud Mamedquliyev.
"Turkey is the OSCE MG member and one of the serious regional players.

If Turkey wants to contribute to the conflict settlement, Azerbaijan is ready to consider proposals and if they satisfy us, we will support them", said Mamadguliyev Thursday at the press conference in the framework of the session of the BSEC Foreign Ministers council in Yerevan.

According to the deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan, the position of his country is that "the republic welcomes efforts of any state, aimed at the resolution of the conflict and is ready to consider real proposals".

Mamadguliyev noted that continuation of the conflict does not give an advantage and does not propose an alternative way of settlement "only on basis of existing principles of international law".
