Liberal-Democratic party of Azerbaijan makes statement on possible opening of Turkish-Armenian border

The Liberal-Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, chaired by Fuad Aliyev, has released a statement voicing concern about the possible opening of borders between Armenia and Turkey, according to the press service for the party.
The statement says that the part considers this step of Turkey inadmissible as the opening of borders does not promote resolution of the Karabakh conflict and will not promote regional development and does not meet national interests.

"If Turkey opens the border with Armenia, it may lose its strategic partner in the region-Azerbaijan", says the statement.

The party also sent protest letters to the Turkish parties with which it cooperates. Moreover, the party offers to powers and opposition to hold a joint protest near the Turkish embassy to Azerbaijan.
