Working President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev can preserve the succession of powers without amendments to the Azerbaijani Constitution in the country", said head of the Center of political innovations and technologies Mubariz Ahmedoghlu at a press conference Monday.
"The current sociopolitical processes in the country allow to state that president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will be able to stay in powers for long without any amendments to the Constitution", noted he.

He said the working president can further rule the state as a Prime Minister or as a Milli Medjlis speaker.

"Ilham Aliyev is heading the Yeni Azerbaijan party, which has no rivals among the South Caucasus states. On the other hand, Azerbaijan is the only state in the region, where the working President has no powers to dismiss the parliament. Thus, having a potential majority of votes in Milli Medjlis, Ilham Aliyev can really rule the country while being the parliament chairman", said Ahmedoghlu.
