The Union for Democracy intends to boycott the upcoming referendum on amendments to Azerbaijani Constitution, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the Classical Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, represented in the union.
As is reported, this decision was adopted because the initiative group of the Khalg Cumhurriyeti party was not registered in the Central Election Commission and also considering the current political situation.
"The Union also urges the voters to boycott the referendum", says the statement.
Notably, it's planned to hold the referendum on amendments to the Constitution on March 18.
The Union for Democracy includes the Classical Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Azadlyg party, People's Party of Azerbaijan (represented by Milli Medjlis deputy Panah Huseyn), Great Azerbaijan party and the National-Democratic party of Azerbaijan.
