Gudrat Hasanquliyev: "The agitation campaign held against a referendum has no real facts"

The agitation group "Right and democracy" is holding meetings with voters in frames of the agitation campaign due to conduction of a referendum on introduction of amendments to the Azerbaijani Constitution, said chairman of the United Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Gudrat Hasanquliyev, represented in the agitation group.

He said the meetings are held in all regions of the country.

"We are going to hold enlightenment work among the population and explain the importance of each amendment to the Constitution. We are against those groups which want to reduce importance of holding a referendum. The agitation group "Right and democracy" explains the importance of each amendment with facts.

We support holding a referendum therefore we intend to take all measures for the amendments and alterations to be introduced to the Constitution. Yet the agitation campaign held against the referendum is senseless and has no real facts", noted he.

Notably, there is a plan to hold a referendum on amendments to the Constitution on March 18. The agitation campaign against the referendum is held by agitation groups "For Karabakh and Republic" and "Republicans".

The initiator of the creation of the civil movement "For Karabakh and Republic" was the Azadlyg bloc consisting of three parties: the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Liberal Party, Civil Development Party, as well as the public forum "For Azerbaijan". The bloc initiative also involved the Democratic party of Azerbaijan, Umid and Musavat parties as well as a number of NGOs.

The agitation group "Republicans" was created by the Musavat party.
