President of Azerbaijan holds meetings in Hungary

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a number of important meetings in Hungary, according to AzerTac.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Philippe Maystadt in InterContinental Hotel in Budapest.

They exchanged views on the prospects of Nabucco project.

Later President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev.

The talks focused on energy cooperation and developing multi-faceted bilateral relationship even more.

They noted that relations between the two countries were developing successfully in all spheres.

According to the Bulgarian Premier, Budapest`s hosting a summit on the Nabucco project will have great importance in terms of taking concrete steps.

President Ilham Aliyev said relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary were developing dynamically.

He underlined that “now the energy factor is one of the priorities on agenda and it will continue to be. Because, energy security is one of urgent issues for every country. So, organizing a summit on the Nabucco project will contribute to expanding cooperation.

Moreover, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan met with the Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek in Budapest.

The Prime Minister expressed readiness to promote expansion of close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union and contribute to integration of Azerbaijan to the European structures during the presidency of his country at EU. He expressed confidence for further development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields. Touching upon the significance of the Nabucco project, Mirek Topolanek estimated Azerbaijan as very important country which plays notable role in energy safety of Europe.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that THE Czech Republic during its presidency at the EU, will serve expansion of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and his country, as well as EU. “Azerbaijan closely partakes in the New Neighborhood Policy of the European Union,” President Aliyev said. “Azerbaijan makes its contribution to the energy safety of European Union and the country`s gas is exported to European countries.” President of Azerbaijan stressed importance of the Nabucco project. He expressed confidence for further expansion of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic. President of Azerbaijan highlighted on the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, noting that this aggression threatens cooperation and security in region. At his words, the European Union will soon have to actively take part in settlement of the conflict.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the Prime Minister of Hungary Ferenc Gyurcsany in Budapest.

They said political, economic and humanitarian relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary were developing successfully.

Parties stressed importance of the Nabucco summit, the role of Azerbaijan in Europe`s energy security system.

They also expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would continue to develop, and that these relations are important from the point of view of expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and EU.

Prime Minister of Hungary Ferenc Gyurcsany hosted an official lunch in honor of heads of delegations participating in the Nabucco Summit.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the event.

On the same day I.Aliyev gave interview to Hungarian telegraph agency and Duna TV channel, as well as Bloomberg-News TV channel.

President Ilham Aliyev`s official visit to Hungary is underway.
