Court to consider appeal of Azerbaijan National Independence Party against Baku mayor's office

07 January 2009 [10:15] - TODAY.AZ
On January 19 the Appellate Court will consider a claim of the Azerbaijan National Independence Party against Baku mayor's office.
Spokesman for the party Ali Orucev, National Independence Party has appealed to the court due to the fact that it was not allowed to hold an action against the decision of the Tariff Council about raising prices on the Fizuli square in 2007.

"The fact that the mayor's office did not sanction the action of the party means violation of the law "On freedom of assembly" and "Freedom of speech".

We want this issue to be considered in Azerbaijan and the party intends to pass all instances to bring its truth", announced Orucev.

Notably, the party started court proceedings in October of 2007.
