Gudrat Hasanquliyev's party calls on Azerbaijani authorities to start dialogue with opposition

29 December 2008 [16:30] - TODAY.AZ
The next session of the Single Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan was held on Monday, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the party.
As is reported, the session participants discussed the sociopolitical situation in the country, as well as the events, which occurred in Azerbaijan in 2008.

The participants consider it necessary to hold a political reform for development of the multi-party system in Azerbaijan. The party is resented over the fact that the act of the referendum "On introduction of amendments and alterations to the Constitution of Azerbaijan" was not discussed in details with the parties.

"Our party has repeatedly proposed an idea of improving ties between the powers and opposition based on trust, but no measures were taken in this direction however. The party considers that the political parties must establish a dialogue and in this connection the party calls on the powers to start political talks with opposition.

This method will strengthen relations between the sides and will promote the fair resolution of all problems", says the statement.

It should be noted that the party is chaired by Milli Medjlis deputy Gudrat Hasanquliyev.
