Ireli republican youth movement dismissed in Azerbaijan

10 December 2008 [11:21] - TODAY.AZ
The Ireli republican youth movement was dismissed on December 9 of 2008, reports Day.Az with reference to one of the movement leaders.
It should be reminded that the Ireli movement was founded on August 26 of 2005.

It should be noted that in his recent blitz-interview to Day.Az, Ireli co-founder Ceyhun Osmanly noted that Ireli is the author of the brand "To the future with Ilham".

He said the action under this name was created under the initiative of the youth,  that loves and supports its president and is ready to follow him. The aim of this campaign is a dynamic development of Azerbaijan.

He said that the youth movement involved 29 clubs, 9 departments and 20 high schools, 12 secondary schools. Ireli created school parliaments, carried activity in 13 regions of Azerbaijan. The movement had the Ireli Press newspaper and its website. About 6,000 people were members of the movement.

Ceyhun Osmanly also noted in his blitz-interview that the "future aim of "Ireli" is to expand their activity and continue new projects and initiatives".

In the framework of the statement, the factor of dismissal creates different issues. It is unclear whether the dismissal is a final point in their activity and whether Ireli can be convened as a political party in the near future.

It should be reminded that Ceyhun Osmanly was included into the list of 50 representatives of the "Yeni Azerbaijan" party, who represented Ilham Aliyev at the presidential elections held in Azerbaijan on October 15 of 2008.
