Historian Artur Safaryan: "The Russian initiative has closed way for Azerbaijan to quit the OSCE Minsk group format"

"The Russian initiative has in fact closed way for Azerbaijan to reject the format of the OSCE Minsk Group and transfer the settlement problem to other international structures, primarily the United Nations, much spoken of not only in the public and political circles of Azerbaijan but also in several quite influential international structures", said Artur Safaryan, historian from self-declared "Nagorno Karabakh", commenting on the Moscow declaration.

Thus, Russia has preserved the trilateral format of co-chairmanship, in which it has more driving forces than in case of "games in UN", where the prospects for effective finding way out are too vague", said he.
