US Department of State: "We hope for the peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict"

"Peace and negotiation process is a way, that should be followed and we hope that we will be able to fix a progress on this way", said Fried.

He noted that the August events in the South Caucasus region proved war breeds misery and destruction.

"I believe that Azerbaijan is aware of the impossibility of the forced resolution of the Karabakh conflict", noted he.

Fried said the existing format of the OSCE Minsk Group, which includes three co-chairmen from Russia, France and the United States is preserved.

"Certain progress has been fixed in the negotiations in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. This format is successful and I have spoken about it with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan", said he.
