Edward Nalbandyan: "The key issue is a status of Nagorno Karabakh, which must be defined on the basis of a free will of its people"

The meeting participants discussed the negotiation process on the Karabakh conflict, held in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group on the basis of "Madrid proposals".

Commenting on the statements that the main aspects of the Karabakh solution had already been coordinated, Nalbandyan announced that the key issue is the status of Nagorno karabakh, which must be defined on the basis of free expression of will by its people.

Thus, he said that "if there are statements that the key issues have been coordinated, it may imply that the mutual understanding has been attained on these very issues".

Commenting on the statements of some analysts that Armenia is in hard state in the negotiation process, Nalbandyan said that these are "not the analysis but working of a sick imagination".

The Armenian FM considers that the talks will be more active following the presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
