19 September 2008 [09:41] - TODAY.AZ
From time to time the opponents of the ruling party Yeni Azerbaijan make suggestions, aimed at changing the political system of the country, in the parliament, said deputy chairman of the parliamentary commission on defense and security Aydin Mirzazade.
He said the proposals are mostly connected with the transfer of most powers of the executive power to the parliament, formation of the government from among parties, winning the parliamentary elections.

"This is an attempt to change the political system. But it can not be said that the parliament is isolated from important political events", said he.

As for the expectations from the autumn session of Milli Medjlis, Mirzazade noted that deputies usually discuss the package of draft laws, connected with adoption of the state budget and therefore, the autumn session is mostly dedicated to it.

"Along with the budget, I expect discussions around the draft law "On education", "Status of Azerbaijan peacekeeping forces", "Protection of Investments" and so on", said Mirzazade.
