25 August 2008 [12:35] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan will further continue implementing its projects and transporting its energy sources via Georgia", said spokesman for Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Khazar Ibrahim, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.
"Security of trains and other transport means should be ensured by the transit states", said he at a press conference, commenting on the fire at the railway cross in Skra village in Gori region of Georgia, incited by an explosion, which resulted in ignition of fuel cisterns.

"As far as we know, the Georgian side averted the spread of fire to the whole train and rescued several trains from fire", noted Ibrahim.

He said that Azerbaijani side does not intend to comment on the statements of international experts on this issue, but it bases on the real situation.

"We continue to make positive contribution to the processes, ongoing in the region. On the other hand, we do not support the resolution of existing problems by way of geopolitical clashes. We are for their resolution in the framework of international law", concluded the spokesman.
