President of Azerbaijan receives participants of sixth Baku conference of ombudsmen

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received participants of the sixth Baku Conference of Ombudsmen.
After welcoming the conferees, Head of the Azerbaijan State spoke of the democratic reforms in the country which are necessary to ensure human rights in the country.

In the 17 years of independence, President Aliyev noted, Azerbaijan has done a lot to protect the rights of citizens. The Republic in association with the international ombudsman organizations implemented numerous projects in this field.

President of Azerbaijan also noted the fact of violation of rights of over one million of Azerbaijanis who became refugees and IDPs as a result of Armenian aggression.

"We hope the world community will increase appropriate efforts to ensure the rights of Azeri population and restore territorial integrity of the Republic. This will promote the establishment of peace and tranquility in region," the President underlined.
Representatives of Conference participants shared their views on ensuring human rights over the world which are the integral part of every democratic society.

President of Azerbaijan made final remarks at the reception.
