Armenian National-Democratic Party: "Armenian delegation in PACE should prevent Armenia's being utmost in the issue Azerbaijanis' commitments"

11 June 2008 [17:36] - TODAY.AZ
Armenian delegation in PACE should try to prevent Armenia's being utmost in the issue of Azerbaijan's execution of commitments in the sense of democratization, said Shavarsh Kocharyan, leader of National-Democratic Party, member of Armenian delegation in PACE from previous Armenian parliament.

It should be noted that PACE resolution "On functioning of democratic institutes in Azerbaijan", to be discussed during the PACE summer session in June, states: "The assembly takes into account the resolution of the UN General Assembly "situation in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan", which fixes support to internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan and contains demand of immediate withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied lands".

"The point is the democratization of political process of Azerbaijan and it is illogic to consider it in connection to Nagorno Karabakh.

Moreover, the point is commitments of Azerbaijan. If there are political prisoners in Azerbaijan, newspaper authors are killed and such facts are not investigated, it is wrong to shift the blame in Armenia; anyway, it does not comply with European values", resumed he.
