Eynulla Fatullayev's father: "My son is a prisoner of conscience therefore he should be released immediately"

"Fatullayev misses too much. I think the decision of the Supreme Court to decline the cassation appeal on my son's case is unfair. As soon as we get a сopy of the verdict, we will send the appeal to the European Court of Human Rights", noted Fatullayev.

Journalist's father noted that his son should not stay in prison, he is a prisoner of conscience and he should be released immediately.

It should be reminded that the Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Fatullayev to 8.5 years in prison. The editor-in-chief is charged under article 214.1 (threat of terrorism), 283.2.2. (inciting national, racial or religious animosity with abuse of powers) and 213.2.2 (tax evasion).

The Baku appellate court and the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Court of Grave Crimes, passed against journalist Fatullayev.
