Qudrat Hasanquliyev: "It is necessary to cut terms of election campaign in Azerbaijan"

He said in current conditions the terms of election campaign can be reduced to two months in Azerbaijan.

"During the recent changes in the Electoral Code, I spoke for the reduction in the campaign term, as it is a too long period. At the same time, our party offers to add a paragraph to the Electoral Code according to which political parties would be able initiate their own agitation a year before elections.

They should be allocated a charged air time and provided with all necessary conditions.

On the whole, the campaign should be reduced on the state level, as it attracts attention of the whole community to the election processes. In five years the country holds presidential, parliamentary and municipal elections.

In turn, this hinders settlement of most problems. In most countries this principle has already been used and practice shows that the candidate can present full information about their platform to voters", he concluded.
