Azerbaijan's National Independence Party submits proposals on amendments to Constitution to Presidential office

Azerbaijan's National Independence Party has submitted proposals on introduction of amendments to the Constitution.

The spokesman for organizational issues Nazim Aleskerov told Day.Az that the proposals have been submitted today.

"I do hope that we will get a response on it in the near future as it contains several interesting paragraphs, which can be applied", Aleskerov noted.

It should be noted that proposals on amendments to the Constitution contains the return of the proportional system of voting, in place of majoritary, raising the number of deputies from 125 to 150 people, expansion of powers of the parliament and municipalities and formation of a single Baku city municipality.

The spokesman for organizational issues also added that the party continues preparations for the session.

After March 15, the party will specify the venue of the session and define the date.
