The Azerbaijan Party of National Democracy held a press conference on introduction of amendments to the Constitution of Azerbaijan.

Party spokesman for issues of press and agitation Ali Orujev told Day.Az that the Party offers to review the Constitution and introduce amendments to it by means of a referendum.
In particular, the party recommends to return to the proportional voting system, to raise the number of deputies from 125 up to 150 and expand powers of the parliament and municipalities and form the Baku city municipality.
"The said proposals will be sent for consideration to the Presidential Office and Milli Medjlis. Introduction of amendments to the Constitution is a normal process. The society is progressing and vacuum emerges in some spheres. It is necessary to develop in line with the world level", Orujev noted,
Another party activist Aydin Aliyev recommended to hold presidential and parliamentary elections in 2008, prevent polarization of society and define main perspectives of the dialog.
